The Voice of the

Undocumented

Borders are not crisp continental lines; rather, they are like the hushed space between radio stations on an absent road – shapeless but distinct, connected but apart.

While maps portray a sharp line between both countries, the reality is that culture and society flows along the borderlines and blooms in beautiful, unexpected and fascinating ways in the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico.

The terrain of border spaces exists in a realm beyond the purely physical, it encompasses a liminal space between hopes and prospects, past and future, heritage and continuance.

This tense foxtrot of identity and politics emerges vividly along the U.S. – Mexico border.
